Erika graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1989. She then immersed herself in Hong Kong's cultural and creative industries, starting her career at Radio Television Hong Kong, where she engaged with the public through sound, music, radio dramas, stage productions, and written columns. She later transitioned into advertising and public relations. In 2015, Erika reignited her personal artistic journey, creating three-dimensional works in her spare time, and she began her full-time artistic career in 2021. She currently rents a studio in Chelmsford, England, and is a member of The Hive Artist Studios.
Erika's work focuses on sculpture and installation, often drawing inspiration from the overlooked or forgotten aspects of everyday life, such as children's origami creations, ripples in water, and the interplay of light and shadow. She utilizes a wide range of materials, including glass, marble, metal, wood, as well as paper and fabric.
To broaden her material foundation and refine her sculptural techniques, Erika actively pursued further education. She completed a two-year part-time certification program in sculpture at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre and participated in several short-term glassblowing courses in countries such as Taiwan, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.
Through continuous learning, exploration, and observation, she also actively participates in and assists in organizing exhibitions to enrich her artistic experience. Erika has exhibited in Hong Kong, the UK, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Taiwan, and one of her works is part of the collection at the František Glassworks Museum in the Czech Republic.
